Apollo Cargo E-bike

When rideshare micromobility company Veo Ride wanted to design a practical cargo e-bike, they turned to Eric Zhu Design Solutions. The Apollo Cargo features front and rear cargo baskets and a throttle-assist motor, enabling riders of diverse ages and abilities to tackle hills and transport up to 100lbs of cargo with ease. purposefully designed cargo rack solution for the Apollo e-bike series, the final industrial design conveys a user-friendly yet practical form factor allowing riders to easily identify major interaction areas but keeping the form consistent with existing Veo vehicles. Developed alternative front and rear cargo solutions to appeal to markets before final release.

PROTOTYPING, TESTING, REFINING...

An iterative design approach incorporated physical prototyping, testing, refining to communicate not just the design intent but also ergonomics, human factors, and overall practicality of the cargo rack. This allowed design, engineering, and field service teams to problem solve on the fly and give input into the final design of cargo rack and attachment solutions both for functionality, access, and aesthetic purposes. As the design matured the team was able to assist in ensuring the accuracy, quality, and usability of the design.
